Balance is KEY

Following a career working for a national supply teaching agency, Debby Dyson set up Key Education in 2006. The aim? To provide quality, local teachers to schools across Norfolk and Suffolk whilst delivering a first-class customer service.

Key Education grew organically and in 2008, after working in generic recruitment, I joined the company. We spent ten fabulous years working together (and somehow kept our mother-daughter relationship intact!) but in 2018 Debby decided to set up her new venture in the arts and crafts sector, Snobby Eddy’s. I was then offered the opportunity to buy Key Education from Debby’s business partner – I thought, I’ll never know if I don’t give it a go!

Eighteen months in when I thought I was starting to find my feet, Covid arrived. It was a steep learning curve and as well are all aware, the pandemic really has had a lasting impact on education, in many ways; a lot of teachers left at the start, during and after, and recruitment continues to be a challenge for many schools.

Our core focus is to support schools with their recruitment needs be it an afternoon of cover, a supply teacher for parental leave or recruitment for a permanent position. Our passion is to find the right teacher for the right school whilst delivering a bespoke, pro-active, and personal approach.

We have teachers contact us from all walks of life such as NQTs/ECTs, teachers who have had a career break, have retired, have been working in another industry or, another country, plus many more. We also speak to teachers who have sadly lost their confidence or feel disillusioned. This is where we can make a difference, whatever your situation, we will listen to you and support you in finding the right position, because we care.

We know we are lucky because we service lots of lovely schools and we truly believe that we can support you in finding the right school. Everyone benefits from the right match, the school has a great teacher, you enjoy your vocation in life (with an improved work-life balance), and the students get to benefit from your knowledge and experience.

With two children myself I understand the importance of education and I know how hard teachers work. Our small team is made up of people who genuinely care and appreciate the teachers and schools we work with. We pride ourselves on being upfront and honest and yes, whilst we are a business, there is sentiment in everything we do!
