Key Education is an independent supply teaching agency covering Norfolk and Suffolk and providing you with a flexible way of working.
Whether you are an experienced supply teacher, or you are considering it for the first time, we are here to support you in whatever way you need. Even if you just want to discuss your options, feel free to contact us, there is no obligation to register.
What can we offer?
Ad-hoc supply
The work is set but you are expected to engage and teach the children to the best of your ability.
Short-term bookings
Depending on the situation work may or may not be set.
Long-term bookings
Planning, marking and assessment is required but you are still on supply.
Fixed term contracts
A permanent contract but for a fixed period or time such as a term or one year.

Supply teaching can be beneficial no matter what stage of your career you are in:
- For ECTs it can give you the opportunity to experience different settings from small village schools to larger urban ones. This can help you develop your classroom management skills, confidence, communication skills and the ability to think on your feet. You may also find it leads to a teaching position where you can complete part, or all of your induction period.
- Returning to work whilst raising your family can sometimes be like a jigsaw puzzle, but supply can fit in around you, on the days you are free. We even have part days if full days are not an option. There are no minimum set days you have to work, so you could do as little as a handful a month.
- If you have taught overseas but are now looking to return to the UK, supply gives you the time to sort out house moves, paperwork and planning for the future, whilst still working. Please apply for an overseas police check before you leave the country you are in.
- Whether you decide as an SLT member you want to be in the classroom more, or your family circumstances unexpectedly change, supply teaching is a great way to still work whilst having the flexibility to navigate those changes.
- If you have explored other ventures but want to return to teaching, we can support you with this transition and supply is the perfect way to ease yourself back in.
- After dedicating your career to teaching, if you have taken retirement but miss being in the classroom, want to earn a bit of extra money for your hobbies or simply want to keep your hand in, what are you waiting for?! We often get asked if you are too old, the answer is no! At this stage of your career the knowledge and experience you can offer to schools and children is invaluable.
